The SCR Darkroom Timer is designed to last a life time. The membrane switches were designed for hundreds of thousands of actuations and the outputs are all solid state. Although all controls are readable in total darkness, they are programmed to "dim down" during exposure. If you press the "Lamp" key for focusing and were called out of the darkroom or just forgot to switch it off, the lamphouse will automatically switch off after 90 seconds. An extra outlet is provided to accommodate a room light which is also controlled by the keyboard. The brightness of the key board in both "lamp on" and "lamp off" mode is programmable. The speaker, which "beeps" every second can also be disabled. The last print time is stored when the timer is switched off.
